Valley of Light Community
An incubator for Cultural Creatives
Oracle Campus also is home to the Valley of Light community (“VOL”). Our 23-acre campus is located near the small town of Independence in the Virginia Highlands region of the Appalachian Mountains. In the south, we’re bound by the New River – ironically named, since it’s the oldest river in the Western Hemisphere. In the north, the property is bound by Saddle Creek. Yes, the grounds are spectacular!
In this pristine setting, our community members have co-created an ashram environment where study, service, and spiritual practice are prized. VOL offers Five Paths of service, so that all passions and talents may be pursued.
Our goal is to build a multi-generational community that models sustainable living practices for the 21st Century. Together, we’re creating an inspirational atmosphere that brings out the best in ourselves and the greater community around us.

Join a community where Social Altruism meets Sacred activism
Currently, humanity is facing unprecedented challenges: earth changes, the Sixth Great Extinction, food and water shortages, mass migration, pandemics, terrorism, the Military Industrial Complex, Wall Street greed, the growing impact of artificial intelligence, and a lack of visionary focus by corporate and political leaders.
Additionally, we are witnessing a clash of civilizations and belief systems, including a battle between the ancient religions and emerging theosophies. Altogether, this chaos indicates that a major Paradigm Shift is imminent.
At VOL, we believe humanity’s future is dependent on community-based living founded on the principles of sustainability, interconnectedness, personal freedom, selfless service, and spiritual awareness.
To that end, we are recruiting Second Tier pioneers, who are courageous, mature, and financially responsible. VOL Members know what’s happening in the world, comprehend the gravity of the global situation, and want to help chart a new course for humanity. If you want to co-create an intentional community that is dedicated to modeling and building a new world, join us!
Ready to Build a New World?
Then let’s focus on EVERY Sector of Society
Our auspicious goal is to develop a “City of Light” – a full-spectrum ecovillage comprised of farmers, artists, scientists, social architects, and spiritual activists. Our muse is the Federation of Damanhur in Italy, which has achieved this goal. But time is of the essence: We need to organize quickly to address the polycrisis. Below is a model by futurist Barbara Marx Hubbard called the “Wheel of Co-Creation.” At VOL, we use this iconic symbol to recruit thought leaders in every Sector of Society.
